Despite heavy rains at the stadium, Kaya Iloilo held on to its defense in the early goings but Sydney FC found an opening at the 30th minute when Trent Buhagian retrieved the ball after a Zach Banzon save and nailed its first goal of the match.


Brazilian striker Bobo Da Silva scored another goal off a close-range attempt to make it 2-0 when Sydney FC began a breakaway in the 47th minute.


De Silva knocked another goal a little over a minute after the restart coming from the penalty spot that gave Sydney FC firmly the control of the match.

Adam Le Foundre came off from the bench and notched a brace of his own in the 71st minute of the match to give Sydney FC a 4-0 lead before sealing the win with an 81st-minute attack.


The reigning Copa Paulino Alcantra champions, Kaya FC, will miss a second straight AFC Champions League appearance and will settle for a spot in the AFC Cup group stages, joining Bali of Indonesia, Kedah of Malaysia, and Visakha of Cambodia in Group G.


Meanwhile, Sydney FC will join the ACL group stages alongside Hoang Anh Gia Lai of Vietnam, Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors of Korea, and Yokohama F. Marinos of Japan in Group H.


United City FC will be the only team to represent the Philippines in the ACL that will compete against BG Pathum of Thailand, Jeonnam also of South Korea, and Melbourne City in Group G.
