Stephan Schrock parts ways with United City

MANILA, Philippines — Four-time Philippines Football League (PFL) champion Stephan Schrock has parted ways with United City FC (UCFC), the club announced on Friday.


In a shocking development, Schrock and UCFC mutually agreed to terminate the forward's contract early.


Schrock, who has been with the club since it's Cerers Negros days, was instrumental in the franchise's extensive success in the PFL.


He also helped UCFC to a historic win at the AFC Champions League group stage level.


Schrock skippered the team as well in various competitions.


United City heaped words of praise on its captain as he closes this chapter of his career.


"The Club would like to thank Stephan for his contributions to UCFC and wish him all the best on his next career move," their statement said.


The team also said it will take the opportunity to rebuild the club by "identifying and developing local talents".


With United City and Ceres, Schrock also won individual accolades like the PFL Golden Ball in 2019 and 2020.


He was also named to the ASEAN Football Federation Best XI in 2019.
