Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, March 31) – United City FC took solo leadership of the Copa Paulino Alcantara 2022 table after trouncing the Azkals Development Team, 4-0, on Thursday at the PFF National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite.

Argentinian booter Ricky Sendra opened the scoring line for United City in the 13th minute after he was left wide open in a corner play made by Kenshiro Daniels.

Tajikistani midfielder Amirbek Juraboev doubled United City's lead in the 21st minute with a sensational goal off a running attack from outside the box.

United City maintained their assertiveness in the second half in dominating the ball and getting more shot attempts at the expense of the young ADT side.

In the 72nd minute, veteran forward Mark Hartmann missed a goal from a free kick play, where the ball was saved by ADT goalkeeper Klyle Bayabos.

The ball slipped out of Bayabos' hands and a running Ivan Ouano converted the goal to increase their advantage to three points.

The final nail in the coffin came just before stoppage time when Daniels scored a goal from the left side of the penalty area.

"We got the job done. We needed to win this game. We did what we needed to do," Daniels said after the game.

United City owns the top of the league table with two wins and one draw for a total of seven points while ADT stayed with three points as they suffered their first loss in the tournament.
